YouTube Announces To Block Anti-Vaccine Content

The world’s biggest video-sharing website, YouTube has announced it will block all anti-vaccine content.

YouTube has announced in a blog post that it will block all kinds of anti-vaccine content. According to the company, misleading material will be banned against the effects of all types of vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) or countries, including the coronavirus.

According to YouTube, users should avoid making misleading claims about any vaccine. However, posting about vaccine policies, new vaccine trials and the success or failure of vaccines in the past will be allowed.

The company says users will be able to share their personal experiences and scientific discussions on vaccines, but misleading information about vaccines will not be allowed. Channels linked to big names opposing vaccines will be removed from the platform.

On the other hand, Facebook and Twitter have also banned misleading content regarding coronavirus and vaccines.

It should be noted that in August this year, YouTube said that it has deleted one million videos on its platform based on highly dangerous misleading content related to the coronavirus. Neil Mohan, YouTube’s chief product officer, shared the figures on a blog, stating that one million videos have been deleted since February 2020.
