Former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed disappointment over Babar Azam not receiving the Player of the Tournament award in the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam, despite scoring the most runs in T20 World Cup, was not given the Player of the Tournament award, on which Shoaib Akhtar has expressed disappointment.
In a Tweet, Shoaib Akhtar wrote that he was looking that Babar Azam would be given the Player of the Tournament award.
It is to be noted that Australia has won the trophy for the first time by defeating New Zealand by 8 wickets in the final of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Sunday. The ICC awarded the Player of the Tournament award to David Warner of Australia for scoring a total of 289 runs in the event. However, Babar Azam scored 303 runs in 6 innings with the help of 4 fifties and thus he became the highest scoring batsman in the event.
