According to private TV channel 24 News, Karachi Police has arrested a boy who faked his own kidnapping to take an iPhone. A boy named Ghufran was missing for a few days and his parents filed a missing report with the police.
Yesterday, the parents received a text message, allegedly from the kidnappers. In the message, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh. The police found the location of the mobile phone with the help of this message and it was from Data Darbar area in Lahore.
Karachi Police contacted Lahore Police and with their help when the messager was arrested, he was not a kidnapper but Ghufran himself. Ghufran was brought back to Karachi where he told the interrogation that he wanted to buy an iPhone, for which he needed money. Ghufran staged his abduction just to get the iPhone.
