Petroleum Prices Likely To Rise From October 1

Pakistan is once again preparing to drop petrol bomb on the people. Prices of petroleum products are likely to rise from October 1.

Private TV Geo News, citing sources, claimed that prices of petroleum products are likely to rise from October 1 and. Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary of the rise in prices of petroleum products to the Petroleum Division. The final decision on the prices of petroleum products will be taken by the Ministry of Finance in consultation with the Prime Minister.

Geo News quoted sources as saying that from October 1, the price of petrol will go up by Rs 5.25, while the price of diesel may go up by Rs 3.5. The change in the prices of petroleum products will depend on the petroleum levy and general sales tax.

It should be noted that at present the petroleum levy on petrol is Rs5.62, while on diesel it is Rs5.14.
