OGDCL Discovered Oil And Gas Reserves In Punjab

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited ( OGDCL ) discovered oil and gas reserves in Punjab.

According to local news website ‘Propakistani’ Oil and Gas Development Company Limited ( OGDCL ) has discovered oil and gas reserves in Punjab. These oil and gas reservoirs are located near Attock, Found in a well Tut Deep 1.

The excavation of the well Tut Deep 1 by OGDCL was started on 25 December 2020. Here, up to 5,545 meters of Tobra formation was successfully drilled.

Based on open hole log data, the Lockhart Formation has a 64/32 choke size, 600 pounds per square inch (psi) and wellhead flowing pressure of 882 barrels crude oil per day and 0.93 million cubic standard cubic feet of gas per day.

This amount of oil in these deposits also indicates more deposits in the Potohar base area. OGDCL being one of the leading exploration and production companies has adopted an aggressive strategy for oil and gas exploration. The company says the discovery will significantly increase the country’s hydrocarbon reserves and help reduce the country’s energy demand-supply gap.
